Each year, United Way of Southeastern Connecticut witnesses extraordinary support from companies and organizations,alongside their employees, who continue to demonstrate their support and dedication to the well-being of our community. For memories of this event click here. This year we are proud to present the following distinguished awards:
Chairman's Award of Excellence - Proto Power Corporation
This is the highest honor presented to an organization that best exemplifies the vision of United Way through their spirit, involvement and leadership during the campaign. This company is chosen based on various criteria including increased campaign revenue, CEO and corporate support of United Way best practices. A company may not recieve this award more than three consecutive years.
Million Dollar Awards - Pfizer Inc & General Dynamics Electric Boat
This award recognizes two organizations with employee contributions exceeding $1 Million!
Campaign Committee of the Year - Dominion Nuclear Connecticut, Inc.
This award recognizes the key leadership positions in a company or organization that consistantly determine the success of the campaign. It is given to the employee campaign committee who has shown exemplary commitment to United Way of Southeastern Connecticut and our community base on United Way best practices.
Outstanding Achievement Award - Applied Physical Sciences & City of New London
This award recognizes a company that has shown an increase of 30% or more in company campaign revenue generated through their United Way campaign. To be eligible for this award, the company must see an increase in employee participation, employee per capita, and new Leadership Givers.
Labor Partnership Award - New London Public Works Union, AFSCME-Local #1378
This award recognizes a Local Labor Union who has rendered outstanding support to United Way of Southeastern Connecticut by endorsing and participating in the United Way Campaign by helping to plan the campaign, hold group meetings, and schedule Day of Caring activities.
Circle of Honor
The Circle of Honor recognizes companies and organizations at the level of Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. At each level there are three criteria based on employee participation, employee per capita and campaign increase over the previous year; two must be met to recieve the award.
Platinum Level criteria - $200+ per capita, 90%-100% participation and/or a 25% campaign increase
