Our Pledge to You
We know that you think carefully before giving, and we thank you for the trust you place in us through your generous contribution. Our pledge to you is that we will invest your gift strategically into local agencies and programs that will positively impact your neighbors, colleagues, and perhaps even your family. We are committed to:
Building a Healthier Community
Our community needs quality human service agencies that provide the services and resources to continue to help those in need within our community.
Impact
United Way agencies, initiatives, and programs experienced well over 129,000 service requests for assistance last year.
Local Investment
The money raised here,stays here.
Distributing Your Gift Carefully
Over a hundred volunteers from our community distribute funds each year. They come from all walks of life, from bankers to welders, mothers and retirees. These volunteers are stewards for United Way and ensure our commitment to our mission, "To change our community by helping people in need through responsible use of donations." These volunteers spend over 80 hours visiting and assessing our partner agencies based on "outcomes" that help identify the benefits that each program provides to our community.
We thank all our contributors and our volunteers for your commitment to United Way of Southeastern Connecticut. Your commitment to this community is making a tremendous difference and creating opportunities to help change lives. United Way of Southeastern Connecticut is honored by the trust you place in us, and we work every day to deliver on our pledge to be goods stewards of the money you donate and to make New London County a stronger, healthier community to live, work, and play.
