Connecticut Receives Nationally Recognized Four Star Rating
GALES
FERRY, CT - United Way of Southeastern Connecticut has received a
coveted 4-star rating for sound fiscal management from Charity Navigator
(www.charitynavigator.org), America’s premier charity watchdog.
Four-Stars is the highest rating offered by Charity Navigator. The
organization provides donors with information that enables them to make
sound charitable choices. In earning Charity Navigator’s highest
rating, United Way of Southeastern Connecticut demonstrated exceptional
financial credibility, outperforming most of its peers in its efforts to
be efficient and successful in investing donor dollars within our
community.
Twenty-nine United Ways nationally, and twenty non-profit organizations
in Connecticut and Rhode Island hold a four star rating. United Way of
Southeastern Connecticut is the only United Way in New England to earn a
four star rating.
Board Chair and Director of Community Support Services at the
Southeastern Mental Health Authority, Nancy Rossi stated, “This is an
excellent way to begin our 2007 Community Campaign. It should give
donors confidence in the ability of our United Way to fund services to
local people in need. We are extremely proud to have received a 4-star
rating from this nationally recognized organization.”

Connecticut is a non-profit organization that improves the lives of
people who live and work in New London County and strengthens the
community through local health and human service programs. Programs and
partnerships that the United Way supports improve community wellness,
help children thrive, supply basic human needs, and provide training and
education for jobs.
