United Way Campaign Chair Bill Hakkinen announced the exciting results of this year’s United Way campaign for Southeastern Connecticut at The Radisson Hotel in New London on December 14th. More than 200 campaign supporters, agency representatives, and volunteers gathered to learn that the campaign raised $8,190,000 million. That money will be invested in local health and human service programs that help 150,000 people in need throughout the year.

Among the event highlights was Electric Boat/Electric Boat Employee Community Service Association receiving United Way’s most prestigious honor, the Chairman’s Award of Excellence. This award recognizes one company that stands out in several areas of excellence when running a United Way campaign including volunteerism, CEO support, year-round communication and education, and overall employee giving.
