On August 17th, 2016 our Community Leaders gathered at the Mohegan Sun Convention Center to hear how their engagement with United Way of Southeastern Connecticut is making a difference and participate in a short, hands-on meal packaging project. The program included an introduction from Bobby Soper of Mohegan Sun and two speeches from Brian A. Orenstein, our Board Chair and Virginia Mason, our CEO. When the breakfast concluded, our leaders worked together to package 20, 000 meals to help feed those facing hunger in our community. The volunteers put the proper equipment on and got to work measuring out the foods, sealing the food, and packaging it all up.
