Take a Bus Tour of United Way Partner Programs

United Way has released three new dates for tours of its partner programs this fall. The tours are sponsored by Foxwoods Resort Casino/Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation which provides a comfortable shuttle van and a driver for all tours.

Individuals and groups are invited to participate on a tour which stops at three United Way partner programs throughout New London County. Guests on the tour have the opportunity to see first-hand how their United Way donation is making a difference and also learn about the needs in the community. Tours generally last from 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. and will be available on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, September 9
  • Tuesday, October 6
  • Wednesday, November 4

Read some of the feedback we've received from past tours:

"Having the opportunity to go on an agency tour with United Way was emotional, rewarding, and inspiring. Knowing all the work that is happening in our very own community by these agencies and United Way leads you to want to do more, participate, and be part of the change."

"Having the honor and the privilege to participate in the United Way agency tour was a life-changing event. In one short day, we peered into the struggles of our community. I connected with the lack, the pain, the hunger, the loneliness, the solitude, and the exclusion of so many people in our circle. Most powerfully however, I connected with the hope, the joy, the unity, and the brilliant light of the agencies serving so selflessly. We can and ARE making a difference. The vision that was granted to me was crystal clear. We are all connected and need one another. What an empowering experience and call to action."

"As a lifelong resident of Southeastern Connecticut who believed herself to be community-minded, the United Way agency tours revealed all that I didn't know and all that I wasn't doing to better the community. The tours were a powerful reminder of how the efforts of a community that Lives United can tranform lives."

"The bus tour took me into towns that I knew, but showed me places I never knew existed. There are miracles hidden out there and people who need even more. United Way showed me that."

Space is very limited in these tours. Lunch is included for all participants. To register yourself or your group, contact Alice at
