Upcoming mobile pantry distributions in July

The Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center will host three Drive-Thru Mobile Pantries during the remainder of July. This is a critical time for families, during the summer months when kids are not receiving school lunches.

  • Friday, July 23 – 12:30-2:30 p.m.
St. John’s Christian Church, 346 Shennecossett Road, Groton
  • Monday, July 26 – 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Griswold Senior Center, 22 Soule Street, Griswold
  • Wednesday, July 28 – 4-5:30 p.m.
Waterford High School, 20 Rope Ferry Road, Waterford

The sites are accessible for drive-thru or walk-up visitors. The goal is to serve 300 families facing hunger in our community at each site.

Anyone in need of food is welcome to attend and no paperwork is necessary. Guests are asked to remain in their car and open their trunk where volunteers can place the food boxes. Everyone must wear a mask and practice all COVID-19 safety protocols. The food boxes contain protein, fruits, vegetables, and nonperishable food items.

The Food Center has provided the equivalent of more than 2.8 million meals through the emergency food network of programs in New London County. Those programs serve 17,444 people each month. The Food Center also conducts numerous Mobile Pantry Pop-up distributions across the county each month. View our online calendar of these distributions.
