United Way of Southeastern Connecticut’s Board of Directors has approved funding in the amount of $2,064,378 for the fiscal year 2020-21. This funding supports 42 health and human service programs at 23 local nonprofit agencies in New London County that work together to provide a vital safety net of services to help those in need.
Leading the program review and fund distribution are trained and knowledgeable volunteers who live or work in New London County, and each contribute their time to carefully evaluate program performance and analyze program results. There is a separate volunteer Financial Review Panel comprising individuals with fiscal expertise who assess the financial health of all agencies.
United Way’s Volunteer Allocations Cabinet Chair, Ray Stanley, a retiree from Electric Boat, then brings funding recommendations to United Way of Southeastern Connecticut’s full Board of Directors for final approval.
