United Way and Connecticut Foodshare join forces to serve families facing hunger in New London County

United Way of Southeastern Connecticut and Connecticut Foodshare announced that they are working together to better serve people who are food insecure  in New London County.  Together, both organizations will work with the network of community-based hunger relief programs,  bringing more food to those in need. By partnering together, both organizations will operate more efficiently and deploy more resources into the community

Join United Way as an Allocations Volunteer

United Way of Southeastern Connecticut is reaching out to the community for those interested in serving on its Allocations committee. Allocations Volunteers are the eyes and ears of United Way donors. As a volunteer, you will join a team integral in ensuring donor funds are wisely invested in local health and human service programs that are making an impact in the areas of Basic Needs, Community Wellness, Promoting Independence, and Thriving Children in New London County.

Registration open for Tommy Toy, volunteers also needed

Registration for the 2021 Tommy Toy Fund distribution is open to families wishing to sign up. Distribution dates are December 15th and 16th.

The Tommy Toy Fund, in partnership with United Way of Southeastern Connecticut, is proud to serve families in need in Eastern Connecticut. The program helps children in the New London and Windham County areas who would otherwise receive few or no holiday gifts without this assistance.

Mobile pantry this Friday, September 24

The Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center will host a free, Drive-Thru Mobile Pantry in Groton on Friday, September 24 at St. John’s Christian Church, 346 Shennecossett Road. The site is accessible for drive-thru or walk-up visitors. The goal is to serve 300 families facing hunger in our community. Food boxes will include fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, meat, and breakfast items with snacks and other non-perishables.
