Join us four times a year in community-wide volunteer events to support service projects and make a difference in the lives of families in New London County. Become a sponsor or a volunteer - or both! Each opportunity has meaningful benefits.

Each Day of Caring project brings together 30-50 volunteers to create a positive impact for nonprofits helping our neighbors in need. Sponsorships provide grants for materials and other project expenses to each agency hosting a project.

United Way focuses on connecting people to causes they care about and helping businesses reach their goals around philanthropic giving, employee engagement and community involvement. If you would like to become a sponsor, please contact Rebecca Reutlinger, Vice President of Resource Development.

Volunteers will be embarking on the important task of helping to winterize the community garden and on the same day volunteers will help distribute food during the annual Thanksgiving Pop-up Food Distribution where they expect to serve over 500 families. These two important events will ensure that the community has the support FRESH’s goal of empowering the community to access food with dignity.

Denison Pequotsepos Day of Caring – March 19, 2024

All food grown at the Craig Floyd Giving Garden is distributed to the community for free by the Gemma E. Moran United Way Labor Food Center. SCADD Day of Caring – May 31, 2024

The SCADD property at Lebanon Pines is the place clients call home while they begin their recovery journey. Volunteers will help SCADD provide dignified and beautiful homes by painting the ramps and deck, building a gazebo, planting gardens throughout the property and sprucing up the Welcome Center with fresh flower beds at the Lebanon Pines Property. These projects will provide the clients with a dignified and beautiful space to continue their journey, ultimately contributing to the success of the services being provided to the clients.
