Registration open for Tommy Toy, volunteers also needed

Registration for the 2021 Tommy Toy Fund distribution is open to families wishing to sign up. Distribution dates are December 15th and 16th.

The Tommy Toy Fund, in partnership with United Way of Southeastern Connecticut, is proud to serve families in need in Eastern Connecticut. The program helps children in the New London and Windham County areas who would otherwise receive few or no holiday gifts without this assistance.

There are two distribution locations where families can pick up toys can in New London and Norwich. Families must pre-register through one of the designated social service agencies. A list of sites can be found at: www.uwsect.org/tommy-toy-fund. However, families who have not pre-registered may come to one of the sites after Noon on the second day (December 16th) of distribution.

The deadline to register is Monday, December 6th!

The organization is also looking to fill numerous volunteer shifts. Activities include assisting in the site set-up, decorating, toy distribution, and clean up after the event between Monday, December 13 through Saturday, December 18.

Volunteers must be 18 years or older, be able to direct traffic and/or clients, lift 15 pounds, and stand for the entirety of the shift.

More details, registration forms and sites, distribution locations, and links to sign up to volunteer can all be found at: www.uwsect.org/tommy-toy-fund.
