Michael's Dairy at Mitchell College is holding a benefit for the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center. Proceeds from the sale of all sundaes will benefit the Food Center. There will be music, games, and activities from 7-9 p.m.
Also, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Mariner Market, the school's food pantry which recently became a member agency of the Food Center. The ceremony takes place at 7 p.m.
Patrons of Saint Vincent DePaul Place have access to the Food Pantry, served meals and dining room, and case managers that can assist clients in accessing important benefits.
Volunteers will help put together a new Welcome Center and Serving Line at their location in Norwich. They will help with deep cleaning the kitchen and dining area. Some volunteers will help serve lunch. These areas are integral in ensuring all visitors (patrons, volunteers, staff, and the community) feel welcomed, are directed well, and have a healthy and safe experience.
