New ALICE Report shows pandemic aids temporarily blunted the financial crisis, yet even those supports were not enough.

United Way of Southeastern Connecticut is now accepting applications to its 2023-24 Student United Way program. It is open to high school juniors and seniors from area schools. Applications, available online, are due by Friday, September 29, 2023, and the size is limited to twenty participants.

Event will raise funds for ongoing operations of the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center

United Way of Southeastern Connecticut will hold its inaugural United for Gemma Benefit Gala on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the Mashantucket Pequot Research Center and Museum from 5:30-8:30 p.m. to raise funds to support the Gemma Legacy Fund. The Fund will collectively create sustainable support for the ongoing operation of the Food Center program named after its founder Gemma Moran.

Michael’s Dairy, Mitchell College, and United Way of Southeastern Connecticut will be holding a fundraiser on Sunday, September 24, 2023. From Noon – 9 p.m. the proceeds of all sales of sundaes will benefit the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center (Food Center).
