Employee Spotlight: Christina Fleury

In the second edition of our New Employee Spotlight, we will be introducing Christina Fleury! Christina is the newest addition to our family, joining as a Community Engagement Specialist earlier this year.

Christina is originally from Hingham, MA, and she graduated from College of the Holy Cross in 2008 with an English degree. After graduating, she joined Teach for America and taught English in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, eventually going on to teach high school English at a charter school in Waco, TX. She moved back to Massachusetts and took on the new role of Worcester Programs Director with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Mass & MetroWest. In this position, Christina experienced what it meant to be a United Way partner agency. “I saw firsthand the critical role that the United Way plays in helping nonprofits deliver excellent services while also being a connection point of support for the community.” This exposure is what inspired her to take on her current role within United Way. She is most excited for the opportunities to meet and connect with local business leaders and partner agencies, and to work together with them to continue serving our community. Christina finds motivation in “Being able to work for a mission-driven organization that is making a transformative change in the community.” We know she will succeed in her new role!

Outside of work, Christina makes sure to find time to read, and she is currently on a mission to learn how to bake bread. She resides in Deep River, CT, where she feels welcomed in her new community, with her husband and two young children.
