Join us four times a year in community-wide volunteer events to support service projects and make a difference in the lives of families in New London County. Become a sponsor or a volunteer - or both! Each opportunity has meaningful benefits.
Each Day of Caring project brings together 30-50 volunteers to create a positive impact for nonprofits helping our neighbors in need. Sponsorships provide grants for materials and other project expenses to each agency hosting a project.
United Way focuses on connecting people to causes they care about and helping businesses reach their goals around philanthropic giving, employee engagement and community involvement. If you would like to become a sponsor, please contact Rebecca Reutlinger, Vice President of Resource Development.
The deadline for sponsorship confirmation is January 30, 2027 in order to be included on the tshirts.

Sprucing Up for a Brighter Tomorrow | The Light House - Wednesday, November 18, 2026 - Register Today!
Join a hands-on outdoor makeover at two Lighthouse properties! Volunteers will clear walkways, restore garden beds, spread mulch, prune shrubs, and plant greenery to refresh the grounds. Your work will create inviting outdoor spaces where participants, families, and staff can feel welcomed and connected.
Planting Hope | Child and Family Agency - Wednesday, March 24, 2027
Help transform the grounds of Child and Family Agency's Urgent Crisis Center into a welcoming, calming space for children and families. Volunteers will roll up their sleeves to plant trees, shrubs, and flowers, refresh garden beds, enhance a community art area, and beautify the campus. Together, we'll create an environment that offers comfort and care to families during challenging times.
Growing More Together | Lyme Old Lyme Food Share Garden - TBD 2027
Help grow more fresh food for our neighbors! Volunteers will prepare the garden site and assemble a new hoop house, along with a covered workspace for washing and packing vegetables. These improvements will expand the garden's growing capacity and strengthen its ability to provide fresh produce to community members facing food insecurity.
Creating Spaces That Feel Like Home | Safe Futures - TBD 2027
Make a meaningful difference for individuals and families rebuilding their lives. Volunteers will tackle painting, landscaping, power washing, deep cleaning, and organizing projects at two Safe Futures housing properties. Your efforts will help create brighter, more welcoming living spaces for residents receiving transitional and supportive housing services.
