Join Young Leaders United

Young Leaders United is an affinity group for people aged 21-40 who want to invest in the community and are actively seeking ways to make a positive and lasting impact in New London County. 

Through unique networking, fundraising and volunteering events, members leverage the power of United Way to get involved and give back.

Why Join? Joining Young Leaders United is a great opportunity to meet other like-minded people who want to support New London County through United Way. The group offers social opportunities as well as the experience of fundraising and volunteering for a community cause. Young Leaders focus on United Way’s community impact work to gain a deeper understanding of the health and human services needs and opportunities in New London County.

Get Involved. There are a few ways to get involved. One way is to join our steering committee. This group meets monthly to plan activities and is led by member co-chairs. We also have general members who are not involved in the planning of activities but remain on our email list. We reach out to the general members when there are events and volunteer activities. Most Young Leaders events occur outside standard business hours.

Give Back. Volunteer and community engagement activities offer members the opportunity to give back to the community in impactful and meaningful ways. Some examples of Young Leaders activities include canned soup drives, sorting donations at our Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center and sponsoring a Mobile Food Pantry in Waterford.
