The SECT Childcare Collective is working to increase access to affordable early childcare & education in New London County.
There are two components to the pilot:
Technology Component
The goal of the Technology Pilot is to prepare family childcare providers for major changes to the childcare system taking place in the summer of 2027. The technology, training, and support provided in this pilot are a one-time investment to each provider with long-term impact on business' capacity to remain in operation.

New Business Component

The goal of the New Business Component is to increase the number of home-based childcare businesses operating in New London County and assist aspiring providers with the skills needed to start and sustain a new family childcare business. Participants will receive guidance, training, technology support, and startup funding to help them prepare their home, complete licensing requirements, and build the foundation for a successful childcare program.
