Let's Reel in Donations this Hunger Action Month

The goal is to collect 2,025 cans of tuna during Hunger Action Month

United Way is casting a wide net this Hunger Action Month with a community challenge: help collect 2,025 cans of tuna to support local families facing food insecurity. The goal number was chosen in honor of the year 2025.

Tuna is a requested item at the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center (Food Center), yet it’s also one of the hardest to keep on the shelves. With the support of the community, we can ensure that this nutritious and versatile protein is available in the warehouse.

The Food Center’s network of 65-member food pantries and its Mobile Pantry program will distribute the donated tuna directly to families throughout New London County, ensuring donations reach those who need it.

United Way encourages donations to be dropped off at the Food Center in New London or United Way in Gales Ferry.
